Perfect Game Cares Foundation: How are we doing?

With help...Children Rise! Rise out of Illness! Rise out of poverty! Rise to a brighter future!

We are privileged every day to find so many like-minded people and organizations who are all compassionate in their efforts to genuinely make a difference in the lives of the many children and families we serve. Together, we can all offer hope and opportunity where it is needed most. Our greatest accomplishments are the efforts that help to change the narrative for those who are among our most vunerable.

"The Perfect Game Cares  Foundation is giving back in ways that will have long lasting impacts in our communities. I am so proud to be apart of such an incredible group."

"It has been an honor to work with the Perfect Game family over the past four years on the 14U Baseball Select Festival here in Fort Myers, FL. Each and every year I look forward to meeting the young men selected to play in this game and to thank them personally for raising money to support our local children's hospital. Since this partnership began in 2016, all of the players selected to play in this prestigious event have raised over $128,000 to support our pediatric patients at Golisano Children's Hospital of SW Florida. However, what really holds a special place in my heart is when I see the players interacting with our patients on their annual trip to the hospital. The smiles on both the patients and players faces are priceless. What these players do for our local community makes them all MVP's in my book!"

"Growing up as an athlete and being a huge sports fan; I knew that there were groups such as Perfect Game. I knew these types of groups were designed to gather the most gifted, skilled and athletic kids in their respected sports. Gathering such athletes as these young men and women is meant to allow them to showcase their talents and gain them notoriety. This allows young aspiring kids to perform at their best to coaches and scouts of the most prestigious schools in the nation with the hopes of pursuing their dreams of becoming the best that they can possibly be. There are many groups such as this, but what sets Perfect Game apart from the others? It is with personal interaction with Perfect Game in which I can answer the question above. Perfect Game not only shows the world the skills and talents that these young men possess, but they also allowed them to show a community, a family and one special little boy that they also possess heart, compassion and faith.

On August the 24th of this year; my son Jaxon had the pleasure of meeting many of the players, coaches and staff of Perfect Game and Perfect Game Cares. Jaxon was immediately showered with attention and affection from everyone in the organization. Jaxon spent the day meeting each player, signing autographs, taking photographs and sharing his story with this group of exceptional young men. Jaxon was flooded with gifts ranging from autographed baseballs, shirts, hats and even press box seats to an intrasquad scrimmage for the following day. Game day has arrived and once again; Jaxon was the center of attention. He was allowed on the field before the game to mingle with the players and had also taken part in the presentation of a check from Perfect Game to the OK Kid's Korral. These young men had done fundraisers to be able to donate money to the OK Kid's Korral which is an organization that assists families while they have a child battling cancer.  While watching from the best seats in the stadium; Jaxon wrapped up two very special days with a phenomenal group of men, women and a group of the most talented young baseball players our nation has to offer. Jaxon's experience with Perfect Game did not end there as weeks later; Jennifer Ford of Perfect Game Cares asked if she may request that upon her upcoming birthday if she could ask for gifts be given to Jaxon instead of herself. This selfless act by Mrs. Ford created an amazing day for Jaxon as he spent the majority of his day opening the many gifts that were sent to him via Mrs. Ford's request. Mrs. Ford and many of the coaches and players had joined Jaxon's Facebook page so that they can keep up with his journey and pray for him as he continues to battle cancer. Mrs. Ford continues to message regularly asking how Jaxon is doing. As a sports fan; thank you to Perfect Game for allowing these kids to prove their skills and enjoy the gamed they love. As the father of one wonderful little boy, thank you Perfect Game for keeping these boys modest, caring and humble. Perfect Game is nothing short of PERFECT!!!"

With love and the upmost respect,

Cody and Jaxon Dugger

"Being selected to participate in the PG Select Festival was one of the best experiences to date, in my baseball career.  Once I learned about the PG Cares Foundation and the kids, I was excited to raise money to help them. I did what I could to raise money by having lemonade stands and asking for donations from my family, friends and local restaurants. Visiting with the kids was the highlight of PG Select Festival. To be able to hang out with these kids was very special. I loved playing with them and getting to know them. Even after leaving the event, I am keeping up with some of my new friends on social media. The PG Select Festival is truly one of the best events because I get to play baseball with the best players in the nation but we also have the opportunity to give back by helping the kids."

"Last year was our first year to partner with The Perfect Game Cares Foundation and it was a home run! The young men possess amazing drive to be the best baseball players in the country and that drive definitely extends to their giving natures. Fortunately for us, The Toby Keith Foundation was chosen to benefit from their philanthropic work and 125 different families will be directly impacted for the better. Thank you to The Perfect Game Cares Foundation for hitting one out of the ballpark for children battling cancer."

"Being selected and participating in the 14U Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival was an incredible honor and the experience of a lifetime.  While the distinction and baseball experience were outstanding, the opportunity to raise money and interact with the children of Golisano Children’s Hospital was tremendously rewarding and life changing. While I felt extremely proud and honored to raise $9,000 for the children of Golisano Children’s Hospital, nothing compared to seeing the smiles and laughter on the children’s faces when we visited them at the hospital. While visiting the hospital, we were given the chance to interact, play wiffle ball and just be kids with the kids.  Witnessing their excitement and laughter was priceless and incredibly fulfilling.  It’s funny, as I raised money and prepared to visit the children, I thought I was doing these things in hopes of changing the children’s lives, when in hindsight I realized it changed mine. This experience and opportunity goes far beyond the game of baseball and for that I am very grateful.  Thank you to the Perfect Game Cares Foundation for giving me this opportunity."
